Summary
This guide is designed to explain how to use claim codes and what they are for. The Claim
code feature is an addition to all our websites and was released following feedback from
our existing customers. Remember, you cannot access this tab unless you have the
relevant permission set up on the ‘User admin tab AND each claim code redeemed is a
cost to you, the operator.

What are ‘Claim codes’?
Claim codes are best described as a promotional tool. They allow you to generate a
number of unique codes which can then be redeemed by supporters, enabling them to
enter for free.

Key points:
- They are a PR tool to create awareness of your lottery
- They cost the operator the value of the prize + admin costs (subject to your £ split)
- They are a ‘free’ spin for a potential supporter of the lottery
- There is no 50p for a cause from this as it is a ‘free ticket’ so the supporter does not
get to select a cause as part of the redemption process

How to use your ‘Claim code’ tab
To create a new ‘catch’ of claim codes select ‘Add new’ button at the bottom of your list of
batches from the ‘Claim codes’ tab

You can select the number of codes you would like, then the number of tickets per code, draws per ticket and an expiry date.
In the below example, 500 codes will be generated allowing 3 free tickets for 4 draws before 31/10/2020. The recipient redeeming the single code provided would be entered into 4 consecutive draws with three tickets in each draw. If your prize and service fee breakdown was a total of 40p then each claim code Redeemed would cost you £4.80. If all 500 codes were redeemed this would be a cost of £2,400.
Remember: you are only charged for codes that have been redeemed.

Cost of codes – based on one code costing 40p

Once set up, you can view all the details from your dashboard. To access the codes, you simply click the ‘download’ button.

The unique codes will be downloaded into an excel spreadsheet. To redeem the code, a player needs to enter the URL into their browser. If sending by email, it can be turned into a clickable link.

Once the supporter hits claim, if they already have an account with your lottery, they will automatically be put into the next draw. If they are yet to register, the system will ask them to set up an account. This will enable us to contact them should they be a lucky winner and even better, ensure they receive system generated emails encouraging then to participate in future draws and gives you access to email them too (should they opt-in.)

All information can be tracked via your dashboard, including the number of tickets claimed from your particular offer. You can even download a list detailing when the codes were used so see how successful your campaign is. You get this form your ‘Claim code’ tab on your dashboard.

Although free to redeem for the user, the codes do have an associated cost to the operator (Subject to £ split agreement.) This would be deducted from you at source when a claim code is entered into a draw. This means you will only be charged for codes/tickets entered into a draw.

It is a good idea to speak to your account manager if you are considering using this feature to make us aware of the offer, in case we can add any value. We can also look to see if any supporters have gone one to buy tickets after redeeming their claim codes for you.
